Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here.

I recently started working with an Australian client, and I’m honestly not sure if this level of “chill” is normal. I’ve been working with US clients for the past 5 years, so this feels like a bit of a culture shock. My AU client is very relaxed, not micromanaging at all, and even lets me make decisions and asks for my input on things.

Another thing is, this is actually the first time they’ve had someone in this position. The role was basically handed off to me from their CTO, so I think that might be why things feel a bit unstructured.

At the same time, I was also surprised because there was basically no training—on my first day, I was already given tasks right away. I do understand since the role is about 90% similar to my previous job, but it still caught me off guard.

They do give me feedback like “good job,” but overall it still feels very chill.

Any advice on how to succeed and last long with an Australian client?
