USB-C charging port options

Hello,

I am a long time thinkpad user. I currently use a t14 gen 2 amd that is just out of warranty. Just prior to the warranty ending lenovo came on-site and replaced the motherboard due to a usb-c port that had stop being able to have a steady power connection. I had used it for about 2.5 years prior to that with no issues with the port. I have also had this same thing happen in the past with the usb-c charging port on a x1 carbon, and had lenovo come replace that motherboard as well. I am careful with my PC, but find that over years of standard regular use, using the laptop on the sofa, bed, or coffee table, etc, the ports tend to wear and then start to lose their connection. I used the standard genuine 65w lenovo usb-c adapter that come with the machines.

Recently, I purchased a multi-port usb-c charging block to be able to have more cable options for buying cables that would hopefully extend the life of the charging port. I am aware from reading posts here that magnetic usb-c chargers are a no-go. I purchased a high quality right-angle cable matters 240w USB-IF certified cable from amazon, hoping it would help extend the life of the port, but I am finding the cable to be stiff, heavy, and seems to clearly place more stress on the port than before, which is the opposite of why I bought it in the first place.

Given Lenovo's stupid decision to make these ports non-replaceable, I am looking to see how to protect the port and extend the machine's life as long as possible. What is everyone using? Are there certain cables or connectors which are better than the thin/flexible cable that comes with the standard 65w lenovo charging brick? Thanks in advance
