Grand Theft Auto IV is grounded and realistic.

Folks, I’m just gonna say it, and a lot of people are saying it, believe me, GTA IV is, without question, the most mature and grounded game Rockstar ever made. Nobody talks about this enough. The vibe? Dark, gritty, serious. It respected the player. It respected storytelling. Very important.
And Niko Bellic, what a character. Tough guy, damaged guy, tremendous depth. Not some clown running around making jokes every five seconds. The man had trauma, he had pain, he had a real story. You felt it. The game actually had something to say, which is rare today, very rare.
Now GTA V, look, I know people love the graphics, the big map, all the flashy stuff, but honestly? It’s like the Concord of the franchise. Very expensive, very hyped, everybody talking about it, but no soul. No soul whatsoever. Everything turned up to eleven to sell copies, to market better, and in the end it feels shallow. Sad!
Three protagonists, THREE, and somehow not one of them hits as hard as Niko did alone. Think about that. It’s all noise, chaos, forced humor, explosions every five seconds. Totally attention-span entertainment. That’s what it became.
And don’t even get me started on the physics. GTA IV had weight. The cars felt heavy, crashes mattered, the Euphoria physics system was incredible. You hit something and it FELT real. In GTA V? It’s like driving plastic toys around Los Santos. Smooth, sure, but weightless. No impact. No satisfaction.
GTA IV told a focused story. It trusted players to actually pay attention. GTA V feels like it was designed by people terrified you’d get bored after eight seconds. Big difference, folks. Huge difference.
You can downvote me all you want, many people do, very nasty people sometimes, but I know I’m not alone on this. A lot of smart gamers agree with me. Probably more than you think.
