Ex moves in next door. Coincidence or Stalking?
I’ve been living in a fairly large apartment complex in Suburb A for a few years. About 10 years ago I broke up with an ex-boyfriend, we had been living in Town B. I haven’t had any contact (IRL or via social media) with the ex-boyfriend since we broke up. Now, out of nowhere, I have seen him twice in my apartment complex. It seems that he moved into the building directly adjacent to mine. I had headphones on and pretended not to notice him on both occasions, and he didn’t try to initiate contact with me.
For reference, Town B is a small somewhat rural town about a 1 hour drive from Suburb A. Suburb A, is a generic suburb surrounded by tons of other generic suburbs near a major city. Basically, of all the apartments in all of the suburbs, and all of the apartments in Suburb A, he moved in right next to me. A quick google search revealed that he works in the City, which is still an hour from Suburb A. There are likely way more affordable, nicer, and more convenient apartment options for him than the one I currently live in. He hasn’t initiated any contact with me, but I just get this uneasy feeling like I’m being watched.
Should I be concerned that I’m being stalked? Is this truly a coincidence? Am I just being dramatic, and a bit self-centered?
