I recently bought my first drone (DJI Mini 4K), and I’m loving it so much that I’m considering returning it and upgrading to the DJI Lito Fly More Combo. The problem is I can’t buy it in the US due to import issues, even though I’ve heard it has FCC certification.
One of my friend’s parents will be traveling to Canada in a couple of months, and we’re thinking of asking them to bring back two drones for us.
I have a few questions:
Will this create any issues at customs?
I’ve seen some Reddit posts saying that if the boxes are opened, they can be considered personal electronics—does that actually help?
Since each drone is under $800, does that mean they don’t need to be declared?
Also, how would DJI Care work in this case? Would it be valid in the US, or would we need to ship the drone back to Canada if something happens?
