I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and I'm ready to have this baby. Over the last couple of weeks I've been diagnosed with gestational hypertension and PUPPP. I'm itchy and miserable. The medication for the hypertension is making me ill as it makes me dizzy and nauseated. The itching from the PUPPP is unbearable and is all over my body. I've tried oatmeal baths, pinetar soap, calemine lotion, cold showers/compresses, prescription creams, etc but nothing relieves the itch. It wakes me up at night. I also get woken up by wicked acid reflux and the rhinitis I've had since I was around 14 weeks. So I'm itchy, can't breath and feel dizzy almost 24/7. On top of this my baby is measuring at 10.5 pounds so the pelvic pain is brutal. Getting up to walk has brought me to tears on multiple occasions.
I knew pregnancy wasn't going to be easy, but this is the most pain/discomfort I've ever experienced at once for a prolonged period. I'm barely sleeping and I'm worried about entering the newborn trenches already the most exhausted I've ever been in life.
I'm super thankful I was even able to get pregnant and carry a healthy baby, but the last 2 weeks are really hitting me hard physically and emotionally. Please tell me this gets better? Everyday I struggle to get out of bed at this point and I'm trying to get through it. Is there anything that helped you get through this?
