45M 8th Cardioversion
I had my first Afib episode when I was 28 and was cardioverted. I had no issues for 3 - 4 years. Then had 3 episodes in 15 months. I do not self convert and had 3 more cardioversions. I learned my triggers here were alcohol and greasy foods the following day. I avoided this combination, although I would still drink too much. It came back about 18 months ago with no obvious trigger the first time and with alcohol about a year later. 6 months after that, I had lost 20 lbs and had another episode and now I had lost additional weight, was training for a half marathon, had a PR in a 5k and was feeling amazing. I tweaked my knee and had to take a few weeks off. I then woke up in Afib, which was a shock with all of my positive metrics and lifestyle changes. I am awaiting my 8th cardioversion and have setup an appointment to start talking ablation. I have read a lot of positive reactions and how there is no limits to exercise lifestyles on this board. Hearing all of these stories is extremely helpful. Thank you to everyone on this board.
