What do you think about giving people a second chance after a public mistake?

I came across this Facebook post, where the author argues that these two women deserve a second chance instead of being demonized after publicly admitting they were wrong.

It's crazy how everyone reposted that man without context, without proof, and with no regard for reasonable doubt. I understand the need to stay alert about issues that genuinely happen, but notice how almost no one is reposting now to help clear his name. If you played a part in spreading the accusation, you have just as much of a moral responsibility to help correct the record.
