I'm poor as shit
I purchased the game regardless bc I feel the devs were put through a type of hell only megalomaniac studio owners/company CEOs could create for them, via their blatant lies & unkept promises & drama & public lawsuits/etc. Whether they stuck with the project bc of personal ethics or bc that's how they make rent or w/e other reason, they deserve a good paycheck & much, much more.
Ethical piracy is a thing. Huge fan. I will 100% will pay more for a game if that means someone who is struggling financially even more than I am gets to enjoy something that real people poured real effort in, the same way I will pirate an overcharged game (currently displayed game non-withstanding ofc(mainly thinking about Ubisoft-esque companies/huge bloodsucking companies that fire 1000s of employees per year to pad their investor's pockets) and feel 0 guilt.
