My glasses keep getting messed up...
In the UK, using Specsavers to get my glasses done for around 7 years now.. first time I've ever had issues with them. The first time, the optometrist completely screwed my prescription somehow, like they were wayyyy too weak? The second time, their supplier messed up the thinning on one of the lenses. Now for the third time I've collected them, I still can't see.
These glasses have only had a very small change (Left eye went from -4.75 to -5.00, right eye went from -5.50 to -5.25), so it should be barely noticeable and very quick to adapt. I know my own eyes, and even a few years back when I had a drastic change (roughly -1.50 to -3.75 in my right iirc), it only took a few hours max to adapt, and I only had a bit of dizziness, so a tiny 0.25 change shouldn't cause the issues I am having.
For some reason, I can't see from where my eyes actually ARE on the lens, yet I can see off to the sides in one very specific spot? It seems like they've messed up the positioning of the optical centre or something.. My old glasses were L -4.75 yet somehow my vision is blurry in my left with the -5.00 prescription, while I can still see clearly through my old glasses, which doesn't make sense because the old one was weaker, so why does the new one feel too weak when it's meant to be stronger?? The right feels fine, its not blurry at all when I look through the specific side of the glasses, but the left still feels too weak/blurry even when I AM looking through the more "correct" part.
Im honestly so confused.. Its giving me such bad headaches and eye strain, trying to read anything on paper and especially screen hurts my eyes, they feel dry, I feel dizzy most when I'm looking far off into the distance (eg buildings in front of me when I'm walking). Gonna go back tomorrow and try fix this, because it is honestly so infuriating..
Images of the prescription, and glasses. Roughly: Green is where my eyes naturally look straight ahead from (blurry), red is where I can see clearly if I angle my head and look through that specific part. Right (left of the screen) is not that big of a difference between the sections, but noticeable enough that the red section immediately makes my eye stop hurting and sharpens the words. On the left eye (right of the screen) the green section is quite blurry, even through that red section, even if it is noticeably better, it is still a bit blurry, both make my eyes hurt 😞 has anyone else ever had a similar issue or knows what could be the problem?? Sorry for super long rant, I'm just very upset and confused by all of this
