Unpopular opinion regarding Paulie finding out about his mother
When Paulie confronts her, only searching for answers after being lied to his entire life about his actual birth mother, she starts by denying it, and then after it's revealed, she won't even give him an apology. We don't ever get to see her even ATTEMPT to contact him to explain and express regret before their next meeting.
And then later on, when he visits her room again, does she lead with anything even remotely that shows some kind of remorse after lying for 60+ years? Nope, she instead begins by telling him that he has sinned after not going to his mothers funeral. I guess that's my big pet peeve with this whole situation. Her not being able to acknowledge her wrongs and express remorse, and instead try to make Paulie out to be the bad guy in this situation.(Yes i know that Paulie is a horrible person, im just talking specifically about this conflict).
Listen, i totally agree that Nucci loved him, Paulie has her to thank for growing up with a parent that truly cared and that she was his actual mother regardless of who birthed him, but Paulie's reaction was totally understandable, and his mother was IMO, too cowardly to tell him the honest truth, probably realizing that giving him the truth would not only lose her his beloved son, but also the fully payed living situation she currently had.
