Key takeaways from this show that taught you something in life?
Even for a TV progrum a muveee I still thought this show at its core was very allegorical. For me personally it was learning from Fish Lips that a don doesn't wear shorts

Silvio is one of the funniest characters in the show, his main skill being his expressions and tonality in my opinion, Drop your favorite Sil line?
Let’s say instead of walking out of the room when Paulie cracked wise about his daughter working at the bing when she gets older, Chrissy walks over and beats the shit out of him, or at least gets in a few really good shots before the guys pull him off. What would have been the repercussion of this? What would be the fallout?
I think the relationship would be irreparably damaged. There would be a sit down, it would officially be quashed, but each would still hold a grudge against each other.
I know Ralphie was a crazy cokehead and all, Gladiator Fixation, The Bing whatevah happened there; G-D bless their souls.
The thing to take to heart is he was here and he knew a few things, like how the commie fucks were behind the decimation of Columbus Day and how to use fake calls to Tony as a means of leverage.
He would’ve been an architect except for his mother’s demanding ways; he was in the muff and he was better than 99.9% of any accountants you’ve known.
So let’s be honest with ourselves here, Ralphie never talked politics or about terrorists because he knew.
I appreciate your thoughts here; alright then.
I mean Paulie himself said : "There is a line in the sand when it comes to mothers". Paulie's joke wasn't about his mother but obviously there has to be a line in the sand when it comes to someone's infant daughter and joking about how your infant daughter will become a stripper is definitely over the line. What do you guys think how would have this played out after Chris had punched Paulie over that joke? Punching a made guy is a big no-no as we all know from the Tony-Ralphie "incident" but there has to be exceptions, no?
Writing on the Sopranos is so excellent most of the time, that a weak or awkward line of dialogue really sticks out. (I don't mean a disliked storyline or scene, but specific lines of odd dialogue.) Mine is in 5.01 Two Tonys, when he hears there was a bear in the yard, and says "Oh, one of those Eastern black bears?" No, Tony, a polar bear from the zoo. Of course it was the only kind of bear in the whole eastern U.S. 😅 Don't need a semester and a half of college to know that.
In the show theyre so bad at trying to catch Tony theyre so incompetent at their job. It annoys me how terrible they are and also how evil they are, theyre just as bad as the people their trying to catch. I've said my peace Chrissy.
I’ve got a mate coming over for ziti. Will be here a few hours and he’s already seen pine barrens.
What’s the next best one off ep to show someone who’s never watched (except pine barrens)?
As he’ll be here a few hours is there a block of say 3 consecutive episodes that would be ideal? Don’t want to start from the pilot.
Or is there 3 separate individual episodes I should go with.
Also he’s a golfer (he’s shithouse at it)
I guess I can see him not trying to be crass and maybe somehow fearing that if he’s to blunt that he might ruin his chances but this was just insane.
First off he‘s going to be dead tired by the time they even get there so even if they pick up the coke and get a motel room both of them are probably going to want some sleep.
If he was that intent on getting with her that night he should’ve just got some speed and a motel room or his own home. If their has to be some stupid pretense of using uppers besides the simple go to of going to his place for a drink then this definitely makes more sense.
They mentioned the family Boss Old Man DiMeo being in Springfield and him on the news but never mentioned it he was ever killed or died off screen, nobody ever visits him or sends him any regards either, was he just disliked like Junior was or rendered irrelevant?
The bill was $1,184.00 and Christopher tipped him $16.00 which is obviously way too low when a 20% top would be about $240.00 so it got me thinking just how little could Christopher tip to keep him at bay saving him from his brutal premature death.
I‘m thinking $80.00 is the magic number.
I'm on Season 3 Episode 4 'Employee of the Month'. Janice is so entertaining and 'fun to hate'. And as almost absurd as she is, she's incredibly believable in my opinion. I have known more Janice-s than I care to admit. As she is in the hospital bed and talking about God it's like Livia all over again.
Aida Turturro kills it. I was dying of laughter when she's got the metal detector in the basement.
This is an appreciation post for the way Furio longs for Carmela. His eyes say it all and I’m surprised Tony or AJ didn’t pick up on it. The actor who played Furio did a beautiful job of speaking with his eyes, and the longing he felt for Carmela was so believable. I do wish something had happened between them!

I’m just saying all things considered with his dealings with Christopher, Francois and The Criminal Mastermind you’d think that he might tuck his tail between his legs but maybe he’s had some good times with some of the others before all that.
I watched through several times and still have no clue who Mr Kim was talking about?
Tony B's plot is to show you that no matter how bad he wanted to be "straight" he ended up picking up his old habits. Remember when he found 12gs and gambled all but $400 away? The whole point is to show that these guys will never change. Same with Vito who couldn't even do a full day of work.
Obviously during season 1, Tony paid for Green Grove, but before Janice arrives, Livia is in hospital. Who paid for that? From my understanding, American hospital bills are astronomical and insurance only covers part of it. I assume she's not going to qualify for help because she owns her own house, but that was never sold.
I was seeing stuff about Tony Soprano being hot and I sorta get it. But Paulie, I’m surprised nobody hypes him up. He’s so attractive.
