What fish tank should I buy?
So I currently have a 10 gallon aquarium tank which I’ve owned for the past four years. Initially I was gifted a betta fish and upgraded them to a 10 gallon but after my last one passed (2 years ago) I decided to put a pause and just keep the otocinclus that I had there. Within the past year I was gifted some more fish and so now I have 4-5 Otos, 4 tetras, 3 khuli loaches, and one blue shrimp. My tank is honestly so disgusting and I really want to replace it. For one my cat scratched up one side when he was a kitten which has me scared of leaks. The upper rims of the tank are also dirty from water splash and it doesn’t get clean even after I clean it. The aqueon lid as well is broken on one end and the whole thing just falls apart due to the glue being gone. My sponge filter which I bought from aquarium co-op stopped working a year after I bought it. I had to buy a bubble blower to create movement because my sponge filter wasn’t doing the job anymore. Even from the initial purpose the tubes were too big and a year after trimming the bubbles barely work (cleaning the holes does nothing). Over all my tank just needed a massive upgrade but I’m not sure what to upgrade it to because the only spot that I can put a tank is on my dogs kennel.
My options alright now are the 6.8 immagitarium shallow tank or the 14 gallon immagitarium cube. I noticed that the 6.8 has a 13 gallon version but I haven’t seen it in store. I’m on the fence because the cube looks huge in person and at times I feel like the 6.8 may be too small. On the other hand the 6.8 has more horizontal space which a lot of my fish need since they’re bottom dwellers. Despite lack of space none show signs of stress (overstock) but I want to give them more room and add at least one more tetra and khuli if possible to meet their minimum tank mate requirements.
No matter which tank I get, my kennel set up will be cleaned out to only include immediate fish stuff so all of that junk you see on top of the kennel will be removed.
