I was due to fly Liverpool to Alicante at 9:40 but it’s been delayed until 11:15 due to a bird strike on the aircraft which engineers have had to inspect. It’s made me a bit nervous as how will they know it’s safe to fly now?

Since January I’ve been lifting 4 times a week. 2 x heavy leg days, a pretty heavy back day and a day of chest, shoulders and triceps. I’ve gained strength and seeing some changes to my body but until like 2 months ago I was eating at quite a bit of a deficit (stuck in an old fashioned mind frame of 1200-1400 calories a day or you can’t lose weight!). I increased to 1500-1600 calories as my lifting got heavier. I walk a lot and am usually at 6000-10,000 steps a day.

I know now that to gain muscle you should be in a calorie surplus but to eat in a surplus (& eating healthily) I’d have to eat so much and I’m just struggling to get my head around how eating 1800+ plus a day is going to make me look lean and fit and that I’m not going to just put weight on. Especially when I still have some weight to lose. I’m 5’5 and about 64kg.

Just looking to hear from others anecdotally who have lost weight/gained muscle and what calories you aim for?
