Proposal for Regression on Gunfire Suppression Effects! Hope the Dice Staff Can Take a Look
I hope to restore the firearm suppression effect, in a more modern way! Bullets strafing directly around soldiers create thick smoke and dust that obscure the sniper's vision. This is enough, and the machine gun suppression effect is strongest, spraying smoke everywhere to block the enemy's view. Assault rifles have semi-transparent smoke but not as much smoke! Depending on the type of projectile, the distance and strength increase the smoke to varying degrees! Also, the machine gun muzzle smoke increases, overheating and causes thick smoke to spread from the magazine and muzzle. If you set up the gun in one spot, consider that smoke might reveal your position. The smoke from your muzzle won't block your front view but will drift to both sides! This is the most realistic approach. Real firearms have a lot of muzzle smoke from firing, and the spray area also has a lot of smoke
Note: This won't increase negative feedback for players fighting at close range because moving lets you get out of the environmental smoke caused by being sprayed. If you're holding a fixed position with a mounted gun or a sniper is being sprayed at, it won't interfere with aiming; it will just briefly cover your target, making it hard to see far away! It only affects the suppression effect on players using fixed guns. But if you keep firing from a mounted gun, the thick smoke from your own weapon will expose you, especially if the muzzle overheats. What I came up with won't interfere with DICE's original vision for a modern game, which is negative feedback when aiming; smoke only affects your view, but you can still predict the general position of enemies under suppression.
