r/Battlefield

Just started playing…
Dear Lord…my eyes, my sleep, my sanity, all has been lost to this game!
I’ve had it a week and I’ve not put it down, playing till the early hours 02:00 being a 41 year old with kids, I thought I’d have more responsibility! Haha…I thought wrong, this game is phenomenal
All the overwhelming amount of complaints about the matchmaking have gone ignored by DICE. We must keep bringing this issue up until they address it.
Every match can't be ending like this, it's just not fun. SOMETHING must be done as I don't remember ANY BF game, or any game for that matter, having such horrid team balancing.
Hottake: Replace the laser line of the BF6 claymore with the tripwire from BF4 to reward players who actually pay attention to their surroundings and make the claymore visible without compromising its visibility.
What in the world are the older Battlefield games?!? (3,4,1)
yesterday a friend of mine convinced me to get these 3 older battlefield games in order to understand his talk about Battlefield being a washed GOAT franchise. We started with Battlefield 4 and i was like 'oh, alright. its quite nice but i'd just continue to play BF6'. He told me about levelution and all, and overall i liked it but i couldnt quite understand the GOAT part about it... this was until the BF3 and BF1 downloads got finished and we hopped into a server. After 5 minutes of BF3 i understood the hype and cult around it. the feeling and immersion of this game is out of this world. nailed the aesthetics and graphics. i was NOT expecting a game this beautiful, considering it's from 2011!! however, we stopped playing shortly after because the servers started to empty out..
so we closed BF3 and started BF1 and this is where my mind got completely blown away. NOTHING had me prepared for this interactive movie called Battlefield 1. i didn't care about kills or objectives.. i was in there writing my own movie with explosives and gas bombs going off left and right. the sound design genuinely is peak, no doubt about it. i also have no doubt about Players being willing to return to this game if they'd release some new maps or a DLC. BF6 was my first ever Battlefield and, frankly, after playing BF1 i have to say BF6 doesnt hit the same spot for me already. it is quite possible for me to have lost the appetite for BF6 after playing BF1 for such a short time. There are levels to game design, and BF1 sits at the very top. Mesmerizing game. WHAT WAS I DOING BACK THEN AND HOW COULD I MISS ALL THIS BF1 ACTION
Why is the base AA still protecting farms instead of players?
Glaive's miserably slow. 15 second travel time. Why? Why is the base AA able to still shoot down missiles targeted at people running back into spawn for invulnerability? I think the MBT LAW sees more use than this thing. BUFF THE DAMN SPEED SO PEOPLE WORK TOGETHER.
The Snipers feel great!
Funny enough I feel like I’ve been doing better with them since the reworks, all that muscle memory from past games causing me to over lead my shots before is finally paying off! Getting those headshots feels way more satisfying as I feel like I’m actually showing off my sniper skill that has accumulated over the years.
The options also feel way more well rounded as the L115 (shown above) actually has a reason to run it as it plays like a pre update mini scout if it wasn’t over powered lol. I could be wrong (I believe it’s max muzzle velocity was 800 before) but it seems like they actually buffed the muzzle velocity to go more in line with the nerf velocities of the PSR and SV-98 (new muzzle velocity: 850) being only a 20 stat difference. Also the mini scout is actually more pigeon held to be for closer ranges, it has a shit ton of drag, and rightfully so since it still is tied with m2010 having the highest muzzle velocity still. The class balance is certainly better than where it was.
With that, here are some changes I would still like to see.
- Mini Scout: The elephant in the room, the mini scout is pretty much still the best option in most situations, and I’m pretty disappointed that the main issue with it is still mostly at play: just has the best all around stats. I still think it’s ridiculous that it still maintains the highest velocity in the class. Up to 100 meters or so it’s still going to be the best outright option as engagements beyond that get more niche. I would like to see them buff the rechamber rate to its original state (fuck it, possibly close to 60) and have its velocity be reduced to sub 800mps maxed out. With this it would expand the gap of use case from this and the other snipers in general. Make people really work for those kills beyond cqc. The thing handles like an assault rifle, dueling with another sniper of similar skill you are out right going to have the edge 95% of the time if they aren’t also running the scout. I will say the drop that they did put on it is extremely nice to see. It’s very awkward to do long range sniping with this thing and that’s great lol.
- PSR: They should swap the rechamber rate of the PSR and the M2010. Why am not arguing that the PSR and the M2010 should switch velocities? It comes down to the PSR’s reduced mag. By default the PSR may have worst handling than the M2010 but that completely changes when you swap its 10 round for the 8 rounder. It increases the PSRs mobility stat by 10 points completely eclipsing the handling of the M2010 while also decreasing the ads time in. All for sacrificing what, 2 rounds? Oh no? And with that it essentially becomes the more aggressive option with 3 extra rounds per mag than the M2010 for the same amount of points. And instead of fixing what’s clearly an oversight, I would rather the devs embrace this and.. you understand where I was going at the beginning here? Maybe also increase its velocity to 875-880 or so to make it a little different form the L110. With these it would sort of it make it the flex pick of the class.
- SV-98: Honestly it perplexes me that this weapon and the PSR simultaneously existed since launch since usually these types of straight up clone weapons get added towards the end of a games content cycle. I suppose it has better handling with a bigger mag and a closer range sweet spot to boot? But at that point just use a scout or any other sniper with a faster rechamber rate if you want to be closer to the action. Good snipers don’t care about sweet spots anyway since they’ll already be aiming for the head. Honestly have no idea what they could do for this thing to make it stand out, let me know what you guys think.
Happy 4th to fellow Americans of all shapes and colors out there!
The grenade launcher does no damage, how is this possible?
Where my teammate landed after the tank blew...
I tried to repair as quick as I could! But the rockets...there were just too many of them...I tried...It wasn't enough... I could only watch in slow motion horror as he flew and landed on the tree we just toppled moments before 😭
Is this the netcode or do I need to have faster reactions than 0.18 seconds?
Where is the accuracy penalty for sprinting and jumping....
There's something funky going on with snipers in Gauntlet
For those unaware, Gauntlet uses one armour plate providing an additional 40 health to a player. With the recent update the Mini Scout no longer has a oneshot headshot potential because of how they changed its body damage multipliers but the other four snipers are all still able to. Yet somehow in this clip where I'm using the M2010 I get a headshot hitmarker but only do 139 damage. Is there any reason why this is happening?
The Vehicle Weapon Zoom Toggle/Hold setting is buged since last update
As you can see in the video, I have the "Vehicle Weapon Zoom" setting set to "Hold". But every time I initially enter an aircraft, the setting is stuck to "Toggle".
Only after exiting the aircraft and entering it again, is the setting set back to what it should be for the rest of the vehicle's lifespan in a match!
This is very annoying, so DICE pls fix :)
Now I understand why Battlefield 1 is so highly praised
Played a lot of Battlefield 3 and Bad company 2 multiplayer around 8-10 years ago. I played Battlefield 4 for a little while but a lot of things were happening in my life at the time so I was gaming a lot less for around 3-4 years. Bought Battlefield 1 recently when it had a huge sale and I'm hooked.
I've been playing a combination of Battlefield V and Battlefield 1 recently. Battlefield V is fantastic but I'll focus on Battlefield 1 in this post. Battlefield 1 has so many great maps, is immersive and easily one of the best multiplayer games I've played.
I'm kind of kicking myself for not playing this in the first couple of years after release when it had a huge amount of players. Better late than never, I'm having a blast with Battlefield 1 and just wanted to share it with you all
Played since Bad Company 2, this is my first rare reload animation.
Behold. The Shredder
With the best camo in the entire game
I want to talk about BF6 maps but everything that needs to be said is already said like 103204 times
Baffles the mind that 90% of the launch maps are either construction sites, meatgrinders, or colorless drabs
apart from Cairo and Iberian (and I believe the latter is not universally praised) I genuinely do not think there any serviceable launch maps, and I'm not really sold on half the post launch maps
I also do not believe Firestorm and Golmud were the best maps to import from earlier titles
I played all BF games on launch, apart from 2042 and 6 (started 6 2 months ago and played 2042 by Season 5 I believe, Spearhead season) and this is EASILY the worst launch map gallery we ever had, if "2042 had too much space" thing was an exaggeration
