Hi all, I am looking to take a flight to both italy and spain but wondering if its possible to do an extended layover with the same airline so I don't have to pay for a baggage for 3 different airlines. If not what is the best way to go about a 1 week trip saving with baggage costs.

For context I am flying out of JFK but looking to go to rome and barcelona but need some assistance so I don't pay $500 in baggage
