Ethan Nwaneri: discuss. Potential, best position, chances to play minutes next season, should we sell/loan/keep, if we sell with sell-on/buy-back clauses or not, "competition" with Dowman, etc.

I understand he might need to play more. But this kind of potential should not slip out of our hands imo. I'd like him to be in our squad this season. If not, a loan to a good PL side would be ideal for me. If we sell, I'd hope for a buy-back clause rather than a sell-on. In short, I hope the club makes sure we keep him as close as possible.

His best position probably is / will be creative central midfielder. But he's been more than decent on the LW when Saka was out and Arteta said he could see him as a striker. I think while he's developping he could be a very useful versatile player in the squad.

I dont think Dowman's rise is a problem for him right now. They're not at the same stage of development. Nwaneri would easily start against most PL teams in a number of positions, I dont think Dowman is there quite yet.

With our injury record, Nwaneri would have played more if he stayed last season than what he ended up playing at Marseille. I know what happend tp him at Marseille was a bit unpredictable, but our injury record is not unpredictable and having a young talented versatile option in the squad would be good.

Puzzled by the transfer noise

Tzolis looks nice but he's probably not (maybe not yet?) the starter we'd like for the LW.

Rogers will be expensive as hell and we already have Odegaard and Eze as similar options.

Guimaraes is an 8 but we need a 6. MLS is a reliable option, he has more than proved it, for the 8 and recruiting a player who plays in his position will get in the way of his minutes and not adress our real need of a 6 to help Zubi and Rice with the amount of minutes they have to play

Esrly days but I have to say I dont really get it so far

CM transfer business this Summer

Rice needs to be rested more. Zubi as well.

Norgaard isn't trusted for PL, that's probably not going to change next season. That surely means he should go.

MLS surely won't be a LB next season, surely he's a midfielder in this squad now.

MLS and Norgaard are very different players but does this alleviate the need to sign a CM a little bit? If Arteta trusts MLS for the PL, then we might rest either Rice or Zubi for some games and rotate MLS and Merino.

As it stands, we also have Odegaard, Eze and Nwaneri (and Dowman) for the AM position.

It still feels a bit short in the CM department for a 65 game season (1 inury away from overplaying players again) but in a market where we're looking to sign top level attacking players, which are the most expensive targets, can we live with that in your opinion, and concentrate our means towards the forward area in the transfer market?

24/18 instead of 22/16 is a big blunder. Why does it make such a difference?

Why is it such a blunder to double here? My position is strong, probably about to get stronger, etc.
