So I started Mobius (really enjoying it and I watch very few modern cdramas) and thought Bai Jing Ting looked familiar! Turns out he is in some of my favorite cdramas! I had no idea! How is he the same actor in The First Frost (such a lovely drama), Reset (sooo good) and A New Life Begins? I actually went back and watched the first episodes of each drama to double check! 🤦♀️🤭 Has anyone else ever had that happen?
Now it is fully possible that I am mentally defective, but I admit I’m leaning towards “so many cdramas have similar plots. . .”. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m asking because it happened to me twice this week. 😬 I understand that there is a checklist all cdramas (historical, xianxia, wuxia anyway) follow. Lantern festival, check. Use of the giant wall/gate, check. The cliff of doom, from which nobody dies. 🙄 check. Maybe it is because most of these are idol dramas so rinse and repeat is a big part of the formula, but it is a bummer. Sigh. 😔
