Does anyone have any experience filing reports online with CPD? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth my time.
I was rear-ended by an 18 year old a couple weeks ago off of Alkire Rd a couple weeks ago. It was his first accident and I didn't want to involve the cops. He called his mom and she told him how to pull up the insurance info on his phone. I took photos of his license plate and the front of his car, his insurance info, but forgot to get his basic contact info.
As it turned out, the policy he gave me hadn't gone into effect. My insurance company ran a carrier discovery and couldn't find any insurance for him on file. I don't have uninsured motorist property damage coverage, so I'm currently on the hook for a hefty repair fee. I have scoured social media, sent messages to him and relatives, but I'm running out of choices to avoid litigation.
If I file a CPD report, will they just file it down the memory hole or will they help me at least get an address so I can take the driver to small claims court if it comes down to it?
