I am confused: are LDS members Freemasons? Thry literally wear the official Freemasonry logo, the square and compasses, on their nipples. Then the handshakes, the three knocks, and (until 1990) the death penalties.
Major brand confusion vibes.
A detailed discussion of the Ensign Peak Advisors shell companies that hide the LDS Church's tremendous wealth.
I highly recommend this rather new channel.
What do you guys think about Jess?
When you watch the video about the LDS Temple ceremony and know a thing or two about Freemasonry, you will see that 80% of this ritual is plagiarized from Freemasonry. How can the Church sue John Dehlin u/johndehlin over the word Mormon and the color blue, when they are stealing logos (square and compasses on their garments), handshakes, knocks, penalties, etc. themselves?
This video proves that the LDS Church wants to create a Disneyland-like experience at Temple Square. Dieter F. Uchtorf visited Disneyland as a reference to design the new Temple Square experience, including the fake temple rooms. (Timestamp 3:52)
u/HoldOnLucy1 you were right all along!
I am wondering if Pastor Jeff and his wife Joy will one day "miraculously" convert to the LDS Church, just as David Boice of "52 Churches - 52 Weeks" miraculously converted because of some birds he saw. It would be the logical continuation of the storyline, since you cannot continue forever with the "on the fence" narrative. E.g., it is interesting to see Jeff attend General Conference for the first time, it's less interesting to see him do the same for the seventh time.
Opinions?
In 2022, Utah launched a pilot program to clean up lost membership records (see video tutoral in the link).
Do you (especially current or former ward clerks) know whether this program was rolled out to other states or even other countries? I have not heard about this after some discussions in 2022.
This recent episode on "Mormonism Live" triggered a new thought in me.
In timestamp 13:37, Dr. Clemens answers the following:
>When you experience trauma in any way, shape, or form, whether it's religious trauma, PTSD from war, whatever it may be, you need high-risk type of behaviors to help downregulate your brain.
In the "Joseph Smith Podcast" with Prof. John G. Turner and u/johndehlin, Turner characterizes Joseph as risk-loving, even addicted to risk taking. This starts with telling people he could find treasure, when he never found one, to making people believe he had golden plates, ..., to taking extreme risks by proposing to daughters of close companions. While Prof. Turner describes it rather as a tendency of having fun or "mirth", my question is: Is this extreme risk taking, which no sane person would take to the extent of Joseph, a sign of trauma?
Traumas to consider:
Could we explain Joseph's behavior partly as a trauma response?
The above screenshot is taken from the excommunication letter, shown the episode on Mormonish, Ep315: Excommunicated: Mormonish's Landon Brophy .
When you read the official name of the Church, this is actually the spelling used by the Strangites (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) - with no hyphen in "Latter-Day".
Congratulations, Landon, you have been excommunicated from THE STRANGITES.
To avoid brand confusion, LDS garments are now shipped with the following disclaimer label on the neck:
These garments are not affiliated with the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) or the Brotherhood of Freemasons.
