Hey everyone, looking for some advice/experiences from those who finished early or did low-dose courses.

Age/Gender: 28M

Weight: 60kg

Dose: 20mg/day

Duration: 106 days (~3.5 months)

Total Cumulative Dose: ~2,120mg (roughly 35 mg/kg)

Starting Acne: Grade 2 (Mild but persistent) on face, back, and chest since I was 12 years old.

Current Progress:

My face is about 90% clear (cheeks have that "glass skin" look). My back and chest are basically at 0 but has pebbles like appearance same like my face.

The Conflict:

My dermatologist told me to stop the pills today and switch to topical isotretinoin 2x a week for maintenance for 2 months. I’m 28, so my oil glands aren't as aggressive as a teen's.

The Side Effect: I’ve had significant skin peeling and itching in the genital/scrotum area and hand, which he considers a red flag to stop.

My Concern:

I really want this to be a "once and for all" cure. Everything I read says the target is 120–150 mg/kg. I’m only at 35 mg/kg. I’m terrified that if I stop now, the oil will just come back in 3 months and I’ll have wasted my time. Should I push for a second opinion to try and reach the cumulative dose (maybe via micro-dosing like 10mg every 3 days), or is 3 months of 20mg actually enough for "mild" adult acne?

Has anyone here stopped at the 3-month mark with Grade 2 acne and actually stayed clear? Or did you relapse?
