Premium kitchen or premium markup? ₹3–5L quotes for a simple kitchen in Yelahanka

Recently started checking for kitchen renovation work for my 3BHK in Yelahanka.

For a pretty simple and minimal setup, I’m getting quotes between ₹3.2L to ₹5L.

When I asked for detailed costing, one thing that really surprised me was the pricing for Gola profiles for handleless cabinets. They quoted around ₹25k just for that.

So I asked whether we could skip that and just use normal handles instead. But then they said good quality handles themselves cost around ₹800–₹1500 each, and with around 24 doors, the total would come close anyway.

But when I checked online and IKEA, I found handle sets much cheaper. Even IKEA has some handles for a few hundred rupees.

When I brought this up, they immediately said online/IKEA handles are low quality and won’t last long.

Honestly, these are just kitchen handles. It’s not some heavy mechanical equipment. So now I’m confused whether this is genuinely how pricing works, or if interior vendors are adding huge margins in the name of “premium quality”.

Has anyone here bought handles online or from IKEA? How has it held up over time?

And for people who recently did their kitchens in Bangalore, what kind of pricing did you get?

Anyone noticed a spike in BESCOM bills recently?

Has anyone else seen a sharp increase in their BESCOM bills lately? My monthly charges typically ranged from ₹800 to ₹1,200, but over the last three months, they have surged significantly to between ₹1,800 and ₹2,400. I'm trying to understand the reason behind this spike, especially since we haven't added any new appliances during the summer and don't even own an AC.

Need reviews on Shobha One Residences, Bangalore

If anyone has evaluated Shobha One Residences in Hoskote, can you share what you think about it?

Also, how’s Hoskote as a location long term?

Would there really be enough demand for this much premium housing in that area?

Anyone here installed solar in their society?

My society is considering installing solar panels, and we’re trying to understand if it actually makes financial sense in the long run.

If your apartment society has already installed a solar setup:

- How has the experience been so far?

- Did the installation and maintenance costs justify the savings on electricity bills?

- Was there a noticeable reduction in common area electricity expenses or monthly maintenance charges after installation?

Also, which solar brand/vendor did you go with, and would you recommend them?

In Whitefield, Bangalore. Is there anyone taking robotics classes for kids inside gated societies?

Not with the standard stem kits. Rather more hands on conceptual type

If yes, what's your minimum requirement to start in a new society.
