Wanting to share since Reddit and the internet in general have been so helpful to me.
This story begins in south Florida and I saw the cart of FB marketplace and it was 4 miles away from me and when I saw it I knew it seemed like a good deal. The pics I posted are from the marketplace listing and the price was 2800. I didn’t even try to haggle, had my friend drop me off and drove it back home. The first min or two the cart had speed (20mph) and then the rest of the way home it was like 10mph and the last mile was 6mph…painful. But we made it home.
Cart specifics: 2015 precedent, 4” MJFX lift with 14” rims and 22” tires, alpha body kit, Madjax rear seat kit, navitas 5kw 600amp controller, Pyle marine amp, Bluetooth dongle, two JVC speakers, horn, blinkers, turn signals.
Speakers are shot but system does work, the Pyle amp is a cheap $35 Amazon special and so is Bluetooth dongle I think $35 as well but at least they work. Guy didn’t even mention it in ad. And of course, body paint is gone. Bushings are all worn out and some even missing.
I knew batteries and a few other things had to go so posted the 6 lead acid batteries for $120 on marketplace and literally had like 10 people hit me up. Obviously priced them too low as they were still working, sold the battery charger for $60 and the tarp roof for $100. Brought my cost basis down to 2520.
I think I’m going to put in about $1500 into it and get me a nice little ride for around 4k. There are some nice carts on FB markerplace but man they are so expensive, I’ve seen plenty over 10k these guys want used car price for a toy!
I’ve already purchased heavy duty Modz solenoid for $84 because guy had stock solenoid on there! Also purchased double take extended roof for $280 and Ogrphy 48v 105ah steel encased lithium for $774. Don’t judge me on the battery guys, I know it’s Mickey Mouse but I couldn’t justify eco battery money when I’m literally using the cart around my house and I’m probably going to put in 20 cycles a year. Also purchased some 2awg cables from solenoid to battery because the stock ones were prob 6awg.
