Help

We bought a house in golf cart community. House came with a Yamaha golf cart, been here for month and it’s been working fine. But over the past two days it has been popping while putting the charger on. It died on us this morning and haven’t risked plugging the charger in to potential risk a fire.

What is the best/cheapest battery I can get to replace this? Do I need to replace the charger as well? Charger port?

I know nothing about golf carts

Island life

Setting my parents up with my best cart and a two seater kayak while they visit for the week. 2014 precedent with a lithium swap, high speed magnet, and a commercial heavy equipment reverse alarm linked to a special switch on the dash

2012 Precedent i2 wiring

I have an 2012 electric Precedent that I am converting to lithium. I bought a new 48-12v converter for the lights but I’m having trouble connecting the wiring. The converter output is connected to the blue wire that was previously connected to the 16v tap off the old batteries.
In the picture above I’m getting 12v from yellow to black on the back of the light switch, with or without the key switch on. But neither the front or rear lights turn on.
Any ideas?

Yamaha g2 won’t go past idle

Just like the title says, won’t go above idle. Had a broken choke cable so I replaced it thinking that may have been the culprit but it’s still doing the same thing.

Rear wheels locked up

Hello, me and my little brother want to get this wu's golfcart up and running. It's from the 80s and had a gas engine. But in order to do anything we need to get it out of the garage it's in which means a lot of hills. But our problem is the wheels are locked up and refuse to move. How would we go about finding the problem?

Customer bought the wrong lithium

I was called to do a lithium swap on a 2004 or around there club car precedent and the customer bought a single large lithium and he has a center divider tow box. Is there any possible way I could remove the tow box or will the customer need to go get drop in lithiums?

Edit: I love you guys man only 20 mins after posting and yall got me set straight😂

Identify this cart

Is anyone able to identify this golf cart? The only branding I see on it says “Fairway” but nothing comes up when you google that.

What does this lever do? (‘27 Bintelli Beyond)

Can anyone tell me what this lever does? I thought maybe it was a brake but it raises up 90° as well as lowers down 90° with the pressing of the button on the handle. It’s located in the battery bay on the driver side of the cart. THANKS!

CC DS compatibility question

Going to do a bedrock 36v 200A continuous lithium conversion on my 1993 CC DS. Trying to figure out if my 400A 1205-1112 36v Curtis controller will be compatible before I purchase. I don't do a lot of driving, maybe one or two steep short hills. I have a cheap 10lol 36v 125A continuous solenoid that I was going to upgrade to a heavy duty 400A. I don't have a lift kit, it's a two seater, non resistor cart with only headlights as an add on which I have a 48v to 12v reducer. I already upgraded to 2g and 14g wiring. It's also a v-glide and I have a 250ohm 5watt resistor and 3a diode on the current solenoid. With all that said, is it safe to just drop in the conversion kit with the new solenoid without anything else? Will there be an issue with the battery and controller? Do I even need to upgrade to a 400A solenoid?

Finished my xi-875 rebuild

Started as a sad cart stuck in storage for 10 years. Replaced with lithium battery, had motor rebuilt, wheels and tires, new controller, paint and some lights. I should have had the motor upgraded but honestly for how stiff the suspension is (has a crazy payload capacity) the top speed is probably fine. Only thing left is the steering has a 6” dead zone I need to figure out.

Buying help

We are to the point that we can justify buying a used cart to store at our club. There’s a lot to choose from and the best deals seem to come from individuals.

However I’m better at buying and researching used cars. I don’t want to get a season in and it need a lot of work. I’ve ruled out gas for a few reasons including our course is not very hilly and their rental fleet it electric.

Can you tell me what to look for? What about battery type and how much will batteries cost down the road? Also, about half the carts are set up with seating on the back. How big of deal to modify those back to golf club holders?

The only thing my wife seems concerned about is that it has USB ports lol.

Checked out 3 lithium options for my Club Car, figured i'd share what i found

My old cart's lead acids were finally toast after 4 years. I'm 63 and my back is not what it used to be, so hauling those 60 pound bricks out of the tray was the last straw. Been putting it off for a year honestly.

Spent about 3 weeks going down the rabbit hole. Read a million forum threads, watched too many youtube videos, asked a few guys at the course what they were running. Narrowed it down to three brands: LiTime, DC house, and Vatrer Power. All 48V Lithium LiFePO4 Battery setups, all in roughly the same price range.

LiTime had the most amazon reviews. That's probably why everyone recommends it first. But the BMS is only 100A continuous on their 48V model. For a lifted cart with 23" tires, that felt a little tight. Few guys on the forums said the bluetooth app was kinda clunky too.

DC house was the cheapest. Like, noticably cheaper. But the warranty was only 3 years vs 10 on the others, and the case looked like stamped steel instead of SPCC enclosures. Made me wonder where they were cutting corners.

Vatrer Power was the one i kept going back to. On every spec i cared about, the Vatrer Battery was just better. 200A BMS, bluetooth monitoring that shows individual cell voltages, and the LCD screen on the battery itself is handy when you dont want to pull out your phone. Case is solid SPCC steel, not plastic. 10 year warranty. They include a charger and mounting kit in the box, which the others didn't.

Ended up going with the Vatrer Power 48V 105Ah Lithium Golf Cart Battery. Installed it about 6 months ago. Getting the old batteries out sucked. Cleaning up the tray took forever too. The new one dropped right in and weighs about 102 pounds instead of the 300+ pounds of lead acid i had before.

Performance wise, the cart actually has torque now. There's a hill on hole 7 at my course that used to make the cart groan. Now it climbs it without even noticing. I can go 36 holes on a charge and still have about 30% left. The bluetooth app shows me exactly what's happening, i didn't think i'd care about that but now i check it constantly.

Only thing i'd mention is the initial cost stings. But when i ran the numbers, i was replacing lead acids every 3-4 years at about $900 a pop. This should last 10+ years if the cycle rating holds up. So i figure it'll even out over time.

Anyway, happy with the switch. My back is definitly happier too.
