Sunjoe Electric Pressure Washer Not Working
Hi friends — I’m troubleshooting a SunJoe SPX3000 pressure washer for my parents and would appreciate any pointers.
Problem:
* Unit suddenly stopped putting water through. Water runs from garden hose into the unit, but nothing comes out the spray wand. Water appears to stop somewhere inside the machine.
What I’ve done so far:
* Removed and inspected both inlet and outlet hoses — no visible blockages.
* Disassembled and inspected the handle/trigger assembly — no blockages there; water flows freely through the wand/handle when run separately.
* Connected garden hose, turned on water, and observed that water flow stops inside the main unit (haven’t removed the rear/pump housing yet).
Observations/questions:
* No visible debris in hoses or handle.
* Water seems to reach the machine but not pass the pump area — unsure whether it’s a pump inlet blockage, a stuck/unloader valve, failed check valve, airlock, damaged pump seals, or an internal obstruction.
* I haven’t opened the pump/motor housing yet. Any tips on whether I should open it, and what to look for first?
* Are there simple checks (valve/piston moves, check valve inspection, applying gentle backpressure, using needle to clear inlet screen) I should try before disassembling?
* Any known failure points on SPX3000s (clogged inlet screen, check valves, unloader valve, impeller/piston issues, frozen/cracked parts) to prioritize?
Has anyone had an issue like this before? Please help.....my parents are old and crazy.
