Local advice

First time in Poland — Solo traveler from Egypt looking for local advice!

Hi everyone!

I’ll be visiting Poland for the first time, traveling solo from August 26 to September 2.

My plan is to split the trip between Warsaw and Kraków, but I haven’t decided yet how many days to spend in each city, so I’d really appreciate some local advice.

A few things I’d love your help with:

- Which neighborhoods would you recommend staying in? well-connected, and reasonably priced — I’m traveling on a budget.

- What places are genuinely worth visiting, besides the obvious tourist attractions?

- Any good local food spots, cafés, markets, parks, or places where locals actually hang out?

- Is it easy to meet people and socialize as a solo traveler, or are there certain places/events you’d recommend?

I’m not looking for a luxury trip — I’d rather keep things economical, experience the cities properly, meet some people, and get a feel for everyday Poland rather than just checking tourist attractions off a list.

Also, if anyone happens to be around Warsaw or Kraków during those dates and feels like showing a traveler their favorite part of the city, I’d be happy to meet some locals.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to finally seeing Poland
