I haven’t even made Howler yet bro HOW DO THEY KNOW

I just finished JoJolion a couple days ago and absolutely loved it. The characters, themes, and most importantly the emotional core of the story were all done incredibly, and I think Josuke is Araki’s best character, but there’s been one thing that’s bothered since about the halfway point: how was Josuke going to save Holy?
We know he wanted to use the new locacaca/rokakaka, but how exactly? Was he going to transfer Holy’s disease and/or injuries to himself like Johnny did? I apologize if the answer is obvious and I simply can’t read, but I really do want to know if it’s ever stated.
