TL;DR: Lost my title taking a photo for Tesla trade-in. Delivery Tuesday, Tesla says they need it. Can MA RMV issue a duplicate same-day in person? Will Tesla accept a receipt?
Trading in my car to Tesla on Tuesday for this baby. Tesla wanted a picture of the title for the trade-in, so I pulled it out of the glovebox, my dumbass brings it inside to get a good pic, snapped the photo, and now it’s nowhere to be seen. Turned the house and car upside down for the past week idk I must’ve accidentally thrown it out, and the Tesla advisor says they need the title at delivery.
Has someone else has been through this with Tesla or anything similar? Did they let you complete delivery with just a duplicate title application receipt, or did you have to push the delivery date? I was told I couldn’t just pay cash instead of the trade in value.
