I have never had a remotely nice bike before, and I'm going to have to do some repairs on it, but does anyone have any insight on the singletrack? I'm not new to biking overall, just never had a "nice" bike. I'm very proud of myself for getting it for free.

Also I named him Robert.

Hey all, I'm new here. Today, I rescued a Trek Singletrack 930 (who has been named Robert) from certain death. He's got a bit (a lot) of rust, but his from brakes work, gears work, all of that. It doesn't look frame compromising. However, the screw that holds the handlebar in place is very tight, maybe rusted in place, and there's some orange-y rust leaking out from under where the handlebars and frame connect. I'm hoping that they aren't rusted in place. I'd like to make the handlebars a bit higher, is there a way that I could loosen those up? I could deal with the handlebars at this height, but I'd like them a bit higher. Additionally, does anyone have good (inexpensive) brake repair kit recommendations, and chain recommendations? everything else looks good and rust free, just chain, rear brakes, and that part of the handlebar look rusty.

Thank you in advance! (I am actually so proud of finding a trek mountain bike for free, is this what winning the lotto feels like?)
