Is my Chihuahua underweight?
People have been pointing out, and even I feel, that my dog is too skinny.
I was feeding him one cup of food a day because I had confused four pounds with four kilograms, which was what was on the food labeling. (4kg = 1 Cup)
The last time my dog was weight was sometime this year, and it said four pounds, and the vet didn't question it afterward. So now I feed him half a cup a day. According to the food label
Is this what his body is supposed to look like? Or maybe I feel like he's too skinny because of how he used to look like when I was accidentally overfeeding him.
He isn't 100% Chihuahua; there's also something mixed in him. I'm just not sure what, since he was adopted from the streets.
Edit: Thank you, guys, for the comments and advice. I think I am going to up his food intake, just a little bit, not too drastic. I would prefer if he had just a little bit more meat on his bones. Although his bones are not visible, I feel like he's getting there, and that just doesn't make me comfortable.
