Is this a sign?

I had to put my soul dog of 16 years down on Sunday. I feel absolutely broken, but knowing I prevented her from suffering brings me some peace. She had congestive heart failure, but was so strong even until the very end. I loved my Minnie so much. I set up a memorial for her with pictures, her collar, her paw prints, her fur and have lit a candle each night. Yesterday when I got home from the gym, I saw circular light above the memorial. I have never seen these before. Then I saw what looked like fur in the circles. I might seem crazy or am just reaching for a sign, but I truly believe it is my dog letting me know she is still here.

Dental cleanings

I'm getting my boy an oral exam next month and if he needs a vet to clean his teeth what should i expect?

I clean his teeth at home ofc but i've noticed some buildup thats not coming off and decided to schedule a vet appointment to see if its bad or if i need to be brushing his teeth more.

But he's never got his teeth done at the vet before and i dont know what to expect if he does need cleanings done, He's eight years old and has been put under before but do they always put them under or is it just for reactive chihuahuas? And how are yall's babies when you get them back and does it take hours or can i stay at the vet and wait for him to be done?

Does anyone know what happened to that chihuahua puppy that couldn’t breathe?

You all loved Ruby, so here’s the rest of the crew!!

Dobby is the tan boy, Toby is the black one, and of course Ruby is the tiny baby. We also have a “bigger” dog Henry from before we became obsessed with chihuahuas 😂 They’re a lot but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Missing You Always, Josie

I didn’t have the strength to write a memorial post when this happened, but I’ve been thinking of our 5 pound bundle of Josie every day since. She was an older rescue adopted on January 2nd, 2024. Josie and I bonded very quickly, and she became my first velcro dog. One year ago today, her CHF worsened and we made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye.

Her time with us was far too short, but she brought us an enormous amount of joy and wonderful memories to cherish forever. She was the perfect companion for our old man who we had for 15 years, Kurami, who sadly passed 2 months prior to her. Now, they’re OTRB together along with our first rescue chi, Seiko, but will never be forgotten.

We have since adopted another girl chi and boy pomchi (last picture). Our pomchi was going to be Josie's new companion, but she didn't live long enough to meet him. Josie and the rest of our pack will always be missed, but our hearts are full with their memories and these little stinkers around.

Pip’s walk in the rain today ☂️

Rainy season is coming soon, so I’m trying to get him more comfortable with getting his little toes wet.

Meet Rodney

Idk if he can be here as he is only 36% chi. He was supposed to be a hospice foster but mysteriously made a full recovery… Anyway we did his breed and age reveal and were pretty shocked to find out he is only 10! Here’s to many more years with the little man.

Foxy

I adopted 8 yr old Foxy in December after I lost my senior chi to a sudden illness. Foxy was on a euthanasia list at a shelter in NM and is now living her best life.

Lost my sidekick of 15 years.

I had to bury my chihuahua today, I put him in a weather proofed box with his favorite toy, his leash, and wrapped him in his favorite blanket,
I also put in lots of photos of us together with a note to him. I told my family
“when I die bury me with my dog.”

I’ve had him since I was 11, I’m 25 now & holy shit this hurts so much. I couldn’t have asked for a better companion to be by my side. When my life was chaos he was my peace. The amount of unconditional love I got from poncho was unreal. I went back in my camera roll today and realized I took so many vids and pics of us together and I’m shattered sifting through them all literally watching us grow together. I’m here to tell you to cherish your time with your chihuahua, hold them extra close, and give them all the treats they want. If I could relive it all over again I would.. because he was there with me.

My Betty (chug) enjoying the sun

It got up to 32° C today so we didn’t do too much but she enjoyed the sun and reading with me out back.

National Dog Rescue Day - Our hero George

We’re so grateful to have George. He’s such a happy, quiet, cuddly little man. The first pic is when my husband first met him.

The vet estimates that he’s 9, but you’d not know it from his energy. We’ve had him a couple months now, and he’s become such a wonderful part of our family. He loves walks with his new friends, Pom sisters Sophie and Bella.

George is a long hair, but the coat had to be shaved due to severe matting from his stray life on the road. You’d really never guess from his personality that he had a challenging life. He’s our little hero.
