lil guy trusts me

problem with this is that sometimes he will spam tricks when i get him a treat before i say anything. so he will spin, playdead or whatever else. hopefully he doesn't "trust" randomly lmao

Salon portraits

Our trimmer gives each dog a cute binder with their weight, mini health check info, and a themed photo each time we visit. So we have photos of our girls from when they were going through their awkward puppy phases until now. ❤️

We’ve been going to this salon for probably 15 years, so I have binders for my girls that have already passed also. 🌈

A balm for my soul

I've put down three chis since November. The last one was yesterday. They were my little crew for years and though they were old, it was heart breaking to lose all of them. This little lady needed a home and moved in at the beginning of the month. I was worried that it was too soon and that I'd never get over my other dogs, but she's been wonderful to have around and I feel like she's helping me heal. Everyone, meet Muñeca.

Don't be alarmed, neither of them is dead. This is just a standard morning in our bed when I wake up early.

Rest in peace, Harvey

Harvey would've been 12 in October. What we thought were aches and pains and changes in temperament brought on by aging and big cross country moves, was actually very aggressive leukemia. It feels totally unreal, and like at any second, he's gonna wedge himself under my arm and lay down while we watch TV. But he's not. These little guys leave an unbelievably big hole in our hearts, but I know he's no longer in pain, and that's a good thing. Love you, Harv-man.

Pepito

I posted about Lil Ronnie just before but felt slightly guilty I didn’t post his angel of an older brother Pepito. He is the same age as Ronnie (2 months older), but raised with me since 8 weeks, really shows how secure attachment in the early days shapes a dog
