20 years old. Doing well in sales. But I have no clue if I'm building the right future.

I never thought I'd be writing something like this, but I genuinely want advice from people who've been ahead of me in life.

I'm 20.

While a lot of people my age are still figuring out what they want to do, I somehow ended up talking to founders, CEOs, and business owners across India every single day.

When I call them, they assume I'm much older because of the way I communicate. Many conversations end with them asking me to connect on LinkedIn. Once they see my profile and realize I'm only 20, they're genuinely shocked.

I've heard things like:

"Wait... you're only 20?"

"I thought you had 8-10 years of experience."

"The way you communicate and handle objections is crazy for your age."

Even inside my company, people have told me they wish they could communicate or sell the way I do. My manager has appreciated me multiple times, and one day even the director from another business unit came to congratulate me personally for my work.

I love talking to people.

I love understanding what they actually need.

I love the psychology behind sales.

And I genuinely enjoy generating revenue for a business.

Recently, during a conversation, a director asked me:

"What's your end goal? Is being an SDR your final goal?"

For a few seconds, I froze.

I knew sales wasn't the final destination, but I couldn't explain what was.

The only thing that came out of my mouth was:

"Maybe... the Founder's Office."

He smiled and wished me luck.

Since then, that question has been stuck in my head.

Am I meant to stay in sales and become exceptional at it?

Should I move into strategy, growth, or a Founder's Office role?

Should I build my own business someday?

Or am I simply chasing titles because I don't know what I actually want?

Sometimes I feel incredibly confident.

Other times I look around LinkedIn, see people growing fast, and wonder if I'm wasting time.

I'm trying to learn everything I can business, sales, AI, marketing, strategy, communication because I don't want to become someone who's only good at one thing.

I want to become someone who creates value.

So I wanted to ask the people who've already walked this road:

- If you were 20 again with strong sales skills, what would you focus on?

- Is sales the best foundation for entrepreneurship and leadership?

- If you were hiring for a high-ticket sales, growth, or Founder's Office role, what skills would make someone impossible to ignore?

- And finally... how did you figure out what you actually wanted to become?

I'd genuinely appreciate honest advice. I don't want validation i want perspective.

21M | Hyderabad | Looking for something genuine 🌻

Not sure if Reddit is the place for this, but giving it a shot. 😅

I'm 21, born and brought up in Hyderabad, and I work in sales (which I genuinely enjoy). I'm ambitious, love meeting new people, and always try to stay positive.

Looking to meet someone who's around my age (or older), open-minded, cheerful, and has goals in life. Someone who can enjoy the little things, laugh a lot, and is serious about building a good future.

If we vibe, great. If not, no worries. Feel free to DM. :)
