I now get 2 visitors from Pinterest. Is this common (from 500/ month)
I'm new to having my own pinterest account for my business. I have been 'throwing spaghetti at the wall' (Trying all sorts of pin topics and layouts (static) for my nano niche topic of Collaborative Art. https://paintingaroundisfun.com), as all the 'experts' said - you need to do it for a year to get the data and ride the seasonality of it. I am nearing that year now. I found it enjoyable to keep posting pins with hundreds of images from my real group artworks and steadily watched my traffic move from the 40/ month (after I had added a bunch of images with a link to my homepage) and then learned how to "Do Pinterest right" from some popular voices in the system.
I did all the SEO things right, varied images, links and was really enjoying it. My traffic went up to 500/month (exciting for my nano-niche, right?) and then it - died. I have had two visitors this month. Now I'm abandoning the platform as what is the point of scheduling 100 pins a month for zero traffic? None. Is this something that happens (I sort of got that impression from some podcasts that they have accounts that just die) So much for the "Put the effort in and your pins will 10x your traffic and each pin will keep feeding your traffic for a year or more!" Well, if I had done nothing more than throw some images up, I would have more traffic than now. Sigh.
I'm lucky I guess that although my traffic has dropped by 500, my sign ups are actually increasing as is my conversion? I thought Pinterest was helping, but perhaps it wasn't. I have c1500 pins - do I just leave it hoping people MIGHT find my pins if Pinterest now shows them to no-one?
Sigh.
