Received a 2nd background check request before starting new job, should I be worried?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar and can give me some peace of mind.
I accepted a job offer and completed my background check through Sterling about a month ago. Yesterday, out of nowhere, I received a brand new background check request from Sterling asking me to fill out all my information again, exactly like the first time.
I reached out to Sterling directly and they confirmed the first check was completed on their end and is pending processing by the pre employment check team. I understand that process takes some time and I still haven't heard back from them yet.
Has anyone experienced a duplicate background check request before? Did you complete it again? Should I be worried about my offer being cancelled? My start date is 2 weeks away.
Any advice would be really appreciated — I'm really stressed out about this!
