Pain. DOD 250 and 210 build
Threw this thing together a little while ago. Its a modified grey spec DOD 250 and a DOD 210 fet preamp in one box
Mods to the 250 are
Selectable input cap on the left rotary switch
Selectable clipping diodes on the right
Op amp gain trimpot
Enclosure is from some sort of industrial control box with a new back plate, most of the parts and hardware were salvaged from various places, knobs, letter stamps, and light lenses all came from various estate sales. I had to engrave the arrow on the boost volume knob in the center as well. I had an extra unused half of each rotary switch so i added little LEDs that light up when the switch is turned to each position.
I started this off with a Dunn effects board for the 250 side, but was having issues (which turned out to be a potentiometer haha) so i built a stripboard grey 250. Still not totally happy with the sound so i may tweak it further or measure components in my 70’s yellow 250 and build one to that spec. The 210 preamp side sounds great though!
