Newbie question 2 of many: Taxes/Mileage for a w-2 peep

Good Morning,
I flex drive as a side job and I am a teacher full
Time. Any W-2 workers flex driving? I’m brand new to the job.

My real question is if I have a W-2 job which scenario works best with paying, mileage, the works:

1st: pay the taxes quarterly, submit my mileage report with my yearly tax reporting

2nd: hold on the quarterly payments, submit my mileage at the end of the year. Let the mileage deduction eat most of the taxes owed

3rd: a combo of the first two. Pay some of the taxes quarterly, let mileage reporting at end of year eat the rest

Before you hit reply know I am In no way trying to cheat the system and get myself in tax trouble. This is the first time I’ve taken a job like this and am trying to figure the best way. Thank you for the consideration and answers ahead of time.

If there is a good thread for this I’d would appreciate a link.

Thank you

Newbie question 1 of many…

Good Morning,
Ran my first route last week. $98 for 43 packages. Went well.

Question: is there any correlation between the route earnings and what you will deliver? The offers in my area (western Maryland) range from 80-106 bucks for 3.5-4 hour blocks.

Thank you
