2019 Nissan Sentra – Power Steering, A/C, Backup Camera, AEB, Slip Light & Electrical Issues After Fuse Removal
I have a 2019 Nissan Sentra with approximately 148,000 miles. About a year ago, the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) warning light came on and would only clear temporarily if I manually disabled the system. A few months later, the Slip Indicator light came on and stayed on continuously. More recently, the Low Tire Pressure warning light came on even though all tires are properly inflated.
A couple of weeks ago, my driver-side headlight (high and low beam) stopped working. While checking the fuses, the headlight/IPDM fuse was removed and reinserted with the battery still connected. After that, several systems stopped working.
Current symptoms:
• Power steering not working (very hard to steer)
• A/C control panel completely dead
• Backup camera not functioning
• AEB warning light on
• Slip Indicator light on
• TPMS warning light on
• High-pitched electrical noise while driving
Repairs already completed:
• New battery
• New alternator
• New serpentine belt
• New battery terminals
• New fusible link
Nissan performed a diagnostic and recommended replacing the battery terminals and fusible link, which were replaced, but the issues remain. They then suggested replacing the steering column motor for approximately $5,000, but did not address the other electrical issues.
I recently took the vehicle to a Nissan specialty shop. After the first hour of diagnostics, they still have not identified the root cause and are requesting additional diagnostic time.
Has anyone experienced a similar combination of issues on a 2019 Sentra? If so, what was the actual cause? IPDM failure, wiring damage, grounding issue, CAN communication issue, steering module, or something else?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
