Amanita Muscaria vs kratom
Hello.
I was using Amanita Muscaria for a couple of weeks back in the days mostly for anxiety and it worked great. I used it recreationally - with mixed results. Sometimes, most of the time I just got extremely sleepy, and sometimes even sleepy and nauseous at the same time, that is not the greatest outcome. Some recreational uses were great. Like profound joy and deep spiritual experience of being in here and now. Then I had "an incident". I was also experimenting with Psilocybe Cubensis. There's nothing wrong about them, even the super strong Jack Frost kind.
The problem is I'm seriously ill with Long COVID and neuropathic pain I take kratom for. I had a record high pain attack while high on shrooms and it was the worst trip of my life. It was an absolute horror, because I was in pain that normally make people unconscious, but my brain was unable to switch to standby mode. So I had to endure like 10h of pure agony.
Naturally, for the next year I was deterred from ANY shrooms. I have an impressive stash of dried mushrooms, but I was afraid to even look at them for a year.
BTW, what went wrong was not only pain and brain locked from sleeping. It was also nausea. It's a very undesirable side effect of kratom. It doesn't happen always or even often. And that was my problem with AM - sometimes they also caused a light nausea. Nothing too bad, but rather unpleasant.
I was afraid what would happen if I mix 2 things that can cause nausea together. Yesterday I tried.
First - the taste. Despite adding a big slice of lime and a raspberry tea bag, it was awful. BTW, 2.5g of AM and 3g of kratom powder. It was super bitter, a little bit salty.
However, the effect of the "potion" was AMAZING. It appeared before I even finished the whole cup. Zero nausea. Combined best effects of both herbs.
There was one NEW action, that I haven't observed taking AM and kratom separately. It was muscle relaxation. Normally AM takes the edge off, it helps with anxiety, makes me calmer, but without feeling it so much in my muscles. Kratom from the other hand helps with reducing the pain and makes me more positive about the world. Together - pain reduced, fear reduced and muscles relaxed. Also - I was playing Cyberpunk 2077 and it was more "like being there" experience. Extreme immersion. What's interesting - it doesn't affected how I think, I was fully aware of everything. It was just perception. Like 2D screen felt like 3D gogles. Shit, I was smelling the cigarettes game characters smoked. I quit 3 years ago.
So, I think it's an interesting combo - AM and kratom. Anyone else tried? I'll keep exploring this option for a while longer. I have problem with insomnia, I think AM will be perfect for that. Combined with melatonin.
