Hey guys.. I just wanted to put this out there to see if might be able to take advantage of any type of Cost Savings or Tax Advantages for being over 55 years old.
In summary, and this is a little embarrassing to say, but after 35 of being in Technology and working with large Fortune 500 companies, I was recently laid off (First time EVER). Actually it wasn't that recent, February was 2 years since I was laid off. The "Ageism" bias is very real, let alone the market impact within the Technology sector. Anyway, I'm reevaluating some of my monthly expenses to see what I can eliminate altogether, and/or reduce if possible. That said, I wanted to see if there are any programs that provide discounts for those over 55 years of age.
Its my understanding that any type of Senior Citizen "Discounts" would be at the age of 65, not at 55, but I thought I would just put it out there and ask. Some of the older neighbors in the area seem to think there is a Property Tax discount, but I'm not able to find anything on the Bucks County Website.
Other areas that I want to inquire about are, PECO Electric, Water Authority, Food Shopping, Taxes, etc... just to name a few.
Any input would be greatly apricated. In addition, I am also looking for new Employment opportunities as well within the local area. Again, I have an extensive Management and Corporate background. If anyone knows of any opportunities, please feel free to message me. Although I'm VERY comfortable with Technology, it doesn't have to be within that field.
