Some tried scamming me?
So this was a weird situation which I’m assuming was a attempt at fraud or to scam me but as I was dropping off my friend at her house, i could see a family of two women and four kids were out for a walk a couple houses away from me, and two of their kids were riding their bikes and were ahead of their parents caught up to my car which was in the driveway at that point, but they ended up stopping behind my car in what I assumed was waiting for their parents to catch up. My car was in drive but I had my foot on the break, and I could see them in my mirror, however once they passed my car, they started staring at me through my car window, and one of the ladies came up to me and started to claim that I hit her daughter?
She came up to my window and simply said you hit my daughter, to which I obviously denied because I knew for a fact that my car never moved the entire time they were behind my car and I never put it on reverse.
She kept accusing me and I wouldn’t let up, and eventually she said “all you had to do was apologize” which I did in order to not escalate the situation, and she told me to be safer driving in this neighborhood because there was lots of kids around. I said okay, and then she walked away, and her daughter looked completely fine to me?
Was this an attempt to scam me? I genuinely didn’t move the car so there is no way I would have hit anyone, but I don’t understand why the two kids were behind my car for so long while the parents didn’t say anything, until they caught up?
