Hi I recently was in a car accident that left my vehicle totaled. The at fault vehicle is liable for the insurance payment to my lender GM financial.

I do not have gap insurance, and will be left with a 17k balance. GM has mentioned that they cannot offer hardship help once total loss is confirmed.

All this during a financial hardship that has my credit in the low 5s.

What options do I have to change the payment or get assistance through this?
