Bedbugs Found in New Apartment
I moved into a new apartment on a Saturday and noticed this crawling on my pillow, I did some research and found that it is a bedbug. I noticed some smaller ones near the baseboards, one larger one on the closet floor, one killed by a spider in the closet (it looked quite old) & 2 dead ones in the kitchen. After further inspection of my mattress & bedding I didn’t see that there were anymore bugs, droppings, or eggs & didn’t notice anything in the bedroom until I got into bed that night. Prior to moving into this apartment, I lived in the same home for years (14 years, it’s a family home) and did not once notice any bugs in or around my bedroom/bed or the general home & after this happened, there’s still nothing in that home. I washed & bagged what I had in that bedroom & moved things away from the wall. I haven’t fully moved in yet, was just spending my first night there. I let the property manager know & she immediately said I brought them in since the apartment has been completely renovated & the past tenants transferred to a different unit in the same complex. She also said it was her day off so she couldn’t do anything about it until Tuesday. Based on my research, seeing the various sizes can mean there is a breeding ground of some sort? I don’t imagine that, if I did bring them in, they would’ve never shown in my previous home but suddenly in this one and it wouldn’t really explain the ones in the kitchen by the stove either. I didn’t use a moving van, I’ve just taken things in my own car. This was my first time moving out on my own & have been very excited, only for this to happen. It’s been really frustrating & disheartening. Any advice from anyone that’s dealt with this? Thank you!!
