I went to drop my wife to the airport and we did not notice any chip/crack on the windshield. While returning, half way back, saw a crack on the windshield. God knows where it appeared from.

Don’t think anything like a small pebble or rock hit it at all. After parking though, the chips did make my finger a little bloody when I touched that small crack from the outside.

Is this normal with Tiguan windshields?

Edit:

1. No pebbles on the road. The road is perfectly tarred.
2. No extreme weather conditions except that the car was in extreme weather like a couple of weeks back like -3 degrees.
