LOIS' TWISTED VIEW OF "FAMILY".
I saw the whole show and the revival and I have to say Lois meaning of family is one of the most sick things I have ever seen. She completely believes that if you are related to someone you have to deal with them and love them despite the fact that they can get on your nerves, drive everyone(including herserlf) crazy or just be outright horrible people(Her father and mother are prime examples of this). In the revival, she says to a sad and resentful Malcolm: "So we drive each other crazy, so what? thas what family does!". Forgive me for saying this, but I just wanted to shove her to the side and say NO, THA'S NOT IT!!! Families are supposed to love each other, inspire each other to be better, share peaceful and joyful moments and etc, and not being a stressful presence to each other lives. Its completely fine to abandon a toxic family member because otherwise sooner or later you are going to be bitten back due to their toxicity. Malcolm was not the easiest kid to raise, but considering how he was raised and how much his parents expected of him and them and his siblings treated him differently, he had ever reason to cut them off. Like the old quote says:"Just because someone is family doesn't mean you have to tolerate lies, chaos, drama, manipulation, and disrespect."
