Season 6 is the funniest season

I’m watching Malcolm in the middle for the first time , and I genuinely think season 6 is the funniest season. I laughed out loud at so many scenes. It had so many great moments, and I really like how we see some more personality traits from the characters. I was shocked to find out that a lot of people don’t like this season

Why this is the best show I will ever see

When I first started watching this show, I was about 14 or 15. We were just fresh off shows like Full House, where gentle parenting was the portrayal of a beautiful, perfect, American family. Me being Latina, I could not relate less to the way Danny Tanner parented his daughters (side note, Marcello Hernandez touches up on this on his comedy special and it’s hilarious). Malcolm in the Middle felt real and it weirdly made me feel better about how everybody is just winging life. They portrayed realness in a funny, warm, relatable way, even if exaggerated.
Fast forward 26 years and I’m a mom of two AuDHD boys in USA. Dad is American. After watching the revival, I decided to do a rewatch on the OG, and man, has it been healing me in ways I’ve never expected. We are probably are closer to gentle parenting, but both husband and I are a little on the quirky, sarcastic side and say some outside of the lines stuff to match our kids’ energy. I personally have struggled greatly parenting kids on the spectrum and learning to come from a place of understanding and being okay with people judging us. The judgmental piece is something I still deal with regularly.
Now both my 12 year old and I have been watching the show together. Rewatching this family of most likely neurodivergent kids, and how their parents slowly but surely see themselves in them, humanize and portray life on the spectrum in a way that I don’t even know the writers meant to deliver. My son loves watching how outrageous they can get (he loves pushing limits) and I just love watching how people who don’t fit the perfect American mold lead their lives. This show was so ahead of its time and I’m so thankful for it for being able to entertain different generations for different reasons.

Which of Lois’ kids is the most like her?

I’d say Malcolm without a doubt lol

In terms of personality. I would say Francis, BUT I feel like the only thing they share in common personality wise is they like yelling

How is Bryan Cranston such a great actor?

What fascinates me about Bryan Cranston is how easily he seems to disappear into the role he's playing. In "Malcolm in the Middle" he fully becomes Hal and I never imagine any of his other roles when seeing him. In "Breaking Bad" I don't for even a second think of him as Hal. It's a completely different character. In "How I Met Your Mother" too. Completely different character. The same goes for "Godzilla". "Total Recall". All completely different characters. In "Drive" or "Saving Private Ryan" I don't even remember he was in there. How does he consistently manage to do that?

Long time ago, the four nations lived together in harmony then everything changed when the fire nation attacked, who do you think they are?

It’s entertaining as hell to see 2 of my favorite shows that have completely nothing to do with each other get mentioned together, but I think everyone agrees he is NOT surviving. The whole family would find out Hal’s been replaced in less than a day lol

I really wanted Jane Kaczmarek to win an Emmy for playing Lois.

Every award season during the series, I got hopeful. Especially when the last season of “Malcolm” aired, and “Friends” had ended… but then, the award went to the brand-new “Desperate Housewives” instead. Alas…

Did anybody else name their kids after the boys ..

I already have a son named Francis. I’m obsessed with the name. I’m now pregnant again.. another boy. We pretty set on Malcolm. Just wondering if anybody else took inspiration! Lol

When I was pregnant with my son Francis I kept rewatching the show because for some reason every time he’s in a scene, everybody address him as Francis directly and used his name everytime they speak to him. I loved the way it sounded in conversation! Gonna have my Malcolm and Francis 🥰
