Living in Little Italy and commuting to RB -- how bad is it?

I’m considering moving near Petco Park / Marina area because I like the walkability, but I’m unsure about the RB (Rancho Bernardo) commute.

Google shows around 26–35 minutes on a Monday morning for a ~24-mile drive, which doesn’t sound that bad, but is that realistic?

On why Little Italy, I have found more reasonably priced modern apartments than in North Park for instance, at the expense of a longer commute.

Is webform submission no longer working as well?

Is webform submission also broken? (in addition the Online Tracker)

After all that write up, clicking the submit button gives me:

Error

>The web form is currently experiencing difficulties. Your request has not been submitted. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to resolve the issue. Please try again later.

Can someone confirm if IRCC's online infrastructure is having a rough stretch across the board or is it just me?

How do I track my application anymore?

My spousal sponsorship application has been in progress since last October and there haven't been any major requests/updates still. And now the application tracker link is broken (or has been broken for sometime). https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

How come IRCC is not doing anything about it? How else am I tracking my application? I only received a confirmation of my eligibility as a sponsor and that was over a month after I submitted an application, but nothing else since then.

Even I can't seem to submit webform ugh:

leaving the Bay Area for a marquee brand: net positive or negative for long-term trajectory?

With just over 6 years of experience, I am evaluating the long-term career trade-offs between staying physically local to the Bay Area versus relocating for a marquee tech company brand.

The industry appears to still heavily favor a faang-tier credential over what someone has actually delivered, particularly at lesser-known firms. But if one moves out of a major tech hub like the Bay, does it realistically limit options for moving back later? i.e., are you likely to lose out on an opportunity down the line simply because you're no longer local?

How much does location matter once you’re outside the Bay?

Got an offer from a FAANG down in San Diego (not great comp, but the work is actually interesting). I’m leaning toward taking it since I don’t have any FAANG on my resume yet, and I feel like that credential will help me get more eyes on my profile down the road.

My hesitation though: will moving out of the Bay Area hurt my chances if I want to jump to another Bay company later? Like, is there an implicit bias against people who’ve been “outside”?

Am I overthinking this, or is the relocation actually a risk?
