🏆 Enermax 420 + LIAN LI Lancool III Hack – The Key Solution
Friends, today I want to share with you a build that was said to be impossible—and the system that came out of it 😄
🎯 My Goal Setup
- Lian Li Lancool III case
- Enermax Liqmaxflo 420 mm AIO
- Intel i9‑13900K
- RTX 4090 Palit GameRock OC
- 32 GB RAM
- 4K Ultra + Ray Tracing
- Silent operation
- Low temperatures
- Default BIOS settings
⚠️ The Problem
Everywhere online, people said: “You can’t fit a 420 mm radiator in this case like that.”
And honestly, at first I was skeptical too. Clearance was right at the limit.
But I didn’t give up.
🔧 The Hack
- First, I removed the hidden HDD/SSD metal bracket at the bottom. That gave me about +4 mm clearance.
- Even then, inside push fan mounting was impossible. The Enermax radiator is too thick.
- Solution? → Outside push system 😄
- I mounted the radiator fans outside the case.
And here’s the crazy part: this actually turned into an advantage.
- GPU gained extra breathing room inside.
- Turbulence was reduced.
- Radiator got direct fresh air.
- No hot‑air pockets formed inside the case.
- Bottom intake fans fed the RTX 4090 with clean air.
📊 Results
Cinebench 2024:
- ~55 °C CPU temps
- Silent operation
- Default BIOS
- No throttling
Darktide (real gaming test):
- 4K, Full Ultra, Ray Tracing ON, Frame Generation ON, DLSS active
- 144–150 FPS stable
- CPU mostly 51–52 °C, max 55 °C
- Never even hit 56 °C
- System completely silent
And the most critical detail:
👉 BIOS is literally at “Load Optimized Defaults.”
- No undervolt
- No custom fan curve
- No power limit tweaks
💡 The Lesson
The real success didn’t come from BIOS tricks.
It came from physical airflow and proper mounting:
- Radiator sees fresh air
- GPU isn’t suffocated by hot exhaust
- No dead zones inside the case
- Contact Frame ensures perfect CPU contact
- Clean cable routing, no pressure points
So sometimes, what people call “doesn’t fit” can actually become an advantage if you rethink airflow 😄
✨ Predictions collapsed, reality was a miracle.
- Enermax 420 + Lancool III → “unsupported” combo.
- Hidden HDD/SSD bracket removed → +4 mm clearance.
- Scenario 3 offset mounting → the only working solution.
- Contact Frame → flawless CPU contact.
- Airflow → clean, no dead zones, GPU breathing freely.
🎮 Darktide Test Recap:
- 4K Ultra, RT + FG + DLSS 4.5
- 144–150 FPS
- CPU 50–55 °C (never 56 °C)
- Default BIOS fan curve → silent even under load
📌 Conclusion: Without BIOS tweaks, undervolt, or power limits, I achieved a silent + cool + powerful fortress system.

Front vertical air intake -> 420 mm radiator support is not mentioned.
I've now added a 420mm AIO support by custom-making the front vertical air intake bracket. :)
