Why do bug men who build their houses with poop know how to craft skeleton repair kits, prostetic limbs and have skeleton beds? I know nothing of the lore btw

How do I get rid of "The Broken Ones", I never expected something like this when entering a "ruin", I could probably conquer a city with these guys but I'm trying to be a trader and they seem to attack everything that moves, how do I get rid of them?
