DSP + IBS

..I understand this will be different for every Tom, Dick or Harry, more so just wanted some insight! I’ve dealt with IBS problems for more than 8-10 years bow, believe it or not! .. I also thought my IBS problems were normal, until meeting my partner and seeing there dr! I didn’t realise how much it affected my day to day life until I sat down with my dr getting multiple test done.. from colonoscopy, endoscopy, taking multiple different medications, changing my whole lifestyle, food, ect! Now I stick too only eating gluten free items, I don’t eat processed meat anymore, I can’t eat eggs, soy, like the list goes on! I went from working nearly 40-50hrs a week too now not working at all. I’ve found that there are days now where I can’t even leave the house because I’m afraid I will either (excuse my language) .. shit myself or knowing at some point I’m going to need the rest room! I also deal with a lot of pain / discomfort, fatigue, Nausea and not only that but I also deal with a lot of anxiety due to having such pain and discomfort. With all this said, I’ve been seeing my dr for almost 2 years now (give or take) they know the struggles and issues I deal with, I’m hoping in that regard.. that alone will be some sort of starting point in the right direction?

I’m just curious what people’s experiences has been, successful or not regarding being approved for DSP regarding IBS as the main problem?!

I know we’re not doctors, but insight is helpful for those that deal with IBS, Crohns, celiac and more.

…2-3 years ago I was eating shit, I did shift work so trying to find time to eat/shop/prep sadly just wasn’t an option for me. Within those years, I met my gf! .. completely changed my diet after explaining to her about the stomach problems I was having to which I thought were normal at the time. Let me quickly explain my symptoms before I ramble on and forget! .. Stomach cramps, bloating, Gas, fatigue, dehydration, diarrhoea, (I tend to poop all day and night) nausea, and heartburn. I also get mucous in my poop too! .. (Sorry for the gross details)

..so my gf advised I see her doctor to which I reluctantly did! Dr pointed out and thinks I have IBS but I wanted test done to make sure .. got some blood test done, did a endoscopy & colonoscopy. Nothing was found that I remember or nothing serious. Since moving in with my gf, I’ve been eating nothing but gluten free.. so doing the blood test that covered “celiac” showed I didn’t have celiac because of all the gluten free items I was eating! .. so I can’t tell if it was a false result or? I don’t have celiac.. but within the info of the blood test I saw, patient is on a gluten free diet” .. Prior too this I’m also wondering if either I do have celiac and need to eat like shit again and suffer the consequences of eating poorly again to get another test, I’ve never been tested for crohns, is this a possibility? Do I have IBS like the doctor pointed out? I’ve done a food allergies test and that’s all negative.. or does my body just not know how to absorb foods properly? Even with eating gluten free items.. though my symptoms are not as bad, they’re still there?

Am I missing something entirely? I’m also a women, I’m not sure if that plays a factor in anything but figured I’d point that out too!

Insight if anyone else has this problem, or similar and what’s your diagnosis?
